About the Study Visit

This project builds on the "Rainbow Upgrade" partnership-building activity held in Sweden (August 2024). It focuses on creating safe(r) and brave(r) spaces in youth work, especially for LGBTQ+ youth and inclusive for all, fostering equity, belonging, and empowerment.

Through visits to youth organizations in Antwerp, Ghent, and Brussels, participants will:

  • Gain tools and methodologies to enhance their youth work practices.
  • Share insights and challenges with peers internationally.
  • Strengthen collaboration and broaden perspectives on inclusivity.

Objectives

  1. Explore diverse Flemish youth organizations fostering inclusive environments.
  2. Equip participants with practical tools and inspiration for their own contexts.
  3. Build international networks for collaboration in youth work.
  4. Enhance youth workers' skills to promote well-being, inclusion, and growth among young people.

Who Are We Looking For?

Participants:

  • Youth workers *based in Belgium* aged 21+ (professionals or volunteers).
  • Active in their organizations and committed to applying learned practices.
  • Open-minded, eager to learn, and willing to share experiences.

Practical Information

  • Locations: Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels. Visits include Kras Jeugdwerk, Safe Space vzw, JC BAZZZ, Overkop Gent, and JOETZ.
  • Duration: 6 full days (17/05 arrival, 24/05 departure).
  • Costs: Accommodation, food, and travel during the study visit are fully covered (per Erasmus+ guidelines).
  • Participation Fee: €55. (JOETZ members can attend free)
