Through 'Soulmerge', we aim to tackle the challenges encountered by marginalized youth during their transition to adulthood, while also exploring the pivotal role that youth workers play in providing them with support. Participants will be able to integrate yoga philosophy and methodology as a tool for promoting inclusivity and well-being.
We acknowledge that our own biases and stereotypes can impede our ability to support these youths effectively. It's crucial to confront these issues and equip ourselves with tools to advocate for all young people, irrespective of their background or identity.
Research indicates that yoga can help us be more present, regulate emotions, and manage stress. By integrating yoga philosophy and methodology into European youth work, we aim to break down outdated attitudes towards yoga and make it a mainstream practice. We develop and share innovative educational approaches to better serve youth facing prejudice and discrimination. And enhance our capacities, motivation, and wellbeing as youth workers.
Expectations
Active and involved before, during and after the project:
- Before: follow-up of your emails/Whatsapp regarding the practical organization and presence during an online pre-departure meeting with the group (if applicable).
- During: 100% active presence during the project together with your group (you travel together to the project and return back to Belgium as a group).
- After: follow-up of your emails/Whatsapp regarding the further practical/ financial handling and dissemination of the project. JOETZ also asks you to complete a short digital evaluation form.
Be present during a catch-up meeting in Belgium (date not yet known). There we bring together all participants (young people, youth workers, ...) of our JOETZ International projects. The aim is to reminisce and brainstorm about future projects.
Stay in contact
When you are selected, we will be in contact with each other via email and Whatsapp. You will receive all the necessary information via e-mail. Whatsapp will be used for sending reminders, sharing photos and information about the project.
Participation fee
There will be a participation fee for this training course. Please check the infopack below for more information.
Travel budget
Erasmus+ provides a maximum budget for transport of 320 euros. If your transport to and from the project stays within this budget, you pay nothing. If you go over the budget, you pay the difference. Reimbursement is only possible when the organizing partner is in possession of your personal details and all original (or copy of) tickets/boarding passes as proof of transport costs incurred.
During the project dates, food and accommodation are included. Any costs that happen outside of the project dates are not possible te be reimbursed.
Transport
We expect you to draw up your own itinerary and travel plan. JOETZ supports you in this where necessary. You pay the transport costs in advance. Reimbursement takes place approximately three months after the end of the project (see above).

- JOETZ is in charge of making a pre-selection short list for this project. However, the final selection will be done by the organizing partner. In this case, you will receive another selection form them at a later date.
