In this article you will find an overview of our potential new training courses for 2024. These projects are yet to receive confirmed funding by Erasmus+, but you can already let us know which projects peak your interest by filling in this form. That way, you will be the first to get notified when the project get's approved and are able to apply.

Practical information found in this article might change after approval of a project. 

 

PROJECTS

 

Training Course 1: Befriended

  • Subjects: Friendship, understanding and making authentic connections. 
  • About: 'Befriended' is a training course about how to foster close friendships between youngsters in an ever evolving digital world. The topic of ‘Friendship’ will be explored on different levels, such as friendship with ourselves and nature. You will learn how to build and stimulate authentic friendships through non formal learning methods and the use of non-violent communication techniques.
  • Target group: 'Befriended' is a training course for Belgian youth workers, educators, teachers and mentors who are interested in non formal learning. The training course is fit for both volunteers as well as professionals. 
  • Where & when: This project will take place from 15/03/2024 until 24/03/2024 in Slovakia. These dates might change after approval of the project (January).
  • Partners: There will be a maximum of 24 participants in this project. Coming from 8 countries: Italy, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Latvia, Spain, Greece, and Belgium.

Training Course 2: Parallel Realities

  • Subjects: Understanding, awareness and assumptions.
  • About: 'Parallel Realities' is a project that aims to raise awareness and skills on how to deal with stereotypes, prejudices, assumptions and stories that affect our perception of reality and others. It offers tools and methods from coaching, non-violent communication, NLP and nature-based practices to foster inclusion, clear communication and non-judgmental attitude among young people from different backgrounds and ethnicities.
  • Target group: Belgian youth workers, educators, teachers, mentors or community center staff/volunteers who are interested in non formal learning, ideally working with youngsters with fewer opportunities (18+). The training course is fit for both volunteers as well as professionals. 
  • Where & when: This project will take place from 20/04/2024 until 28/04/2024 in Slovakia, including travel days. These dates might change after approval of the project (January). 
  • Partners: There will be a maximum of 24 participants in this project. Coming from 8 countries: The Netherlands, Italy, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Greece and Belgium

Training Course 3: SoulMerge: Blending Yoga and Youthwork to Overcome Bias

  • Subjects: Yoga, Inherit bias, inclusiveness.
  • About: 'Soulmerge' aims to bridge the gap between youth work and yoga to better support marginalized youth. By addressing biases among youth workers and integrating yoga practices into youthwork, we can create more supportive and inclusive environments for these young people to thrive. The project will explore, provide, exchange, and develop innovative theories and educational approaches that youth workers can use to improve their work with marginalized youth to counter prejudices and discrimination. 
  • Target group: Belgian youth workers, educators, teachers, mentors or community center staff/volunteers who are interested in non formal learning, ideally working with youngsters with fewer opportunities. The training course is fit for both volunteers as well as professionals. 
  • Where & when: This project will take place somewhere between May and September of 2024 (7 days) in Czech Republic. Exact dates TBA.

Training Course 4: Youth Guard: Empowering Responses to Sexual Harassment

  • Subjects: Empowerment, Sexual Harassment, Safety.
  • About: 'Youth Guard' aims to train youth workers to prevent and address sexual harassment in youth work settings. Motivated by the fact that sexual harassment is a widespread problem in society, this project enables youth workers to gain the necessary training to address and prevent sexual harassment within their organization. Experiences and good practices will be shared among all international participants, garnering best practices.
  • Target group: Youth workers, teachers, educators, people in charge of integrity/safety within their organization and community center staff. The training course is fit for both volunteers as well as professionals. 
  • Where & when: Late spring/summer of 2024 in Czech Republic.

Training Course 5: Social theatre and social media

  • Subjects: Theatre, social media and expressing authentic emotions.
  • About: This training course aims to teach social and youth workers how to transform the personal, transformative methods of social theatre into online content that can be seen through websites and social media.

    This is a challenging task, as social theatre is a very practical and experiential form of work. However, with the increasing need to communicate through digital methods, it is becoming imperative that social workers have the skills and knowledge to share their work online in order to multiply its impact.

  • Target group: Youth workers, youth leaders, educators and teachers. No previous experience with theatre is required to participate.
  • Where & when: Date in 2024 yet to be announced. The project will take place in France.

Training Course 6: My Dear Body

  • Subjects: Body positivity, self-image, self-acceptance

  • About: 'My Dear Body' will focus on helping participants develop a more positive body image, authenticity, and resilience. Participants will learn new self-regulation techniques, mindfulness, creative writing, sport, arts, self-love, self-confidence, and self-esteem activities. The course aims to help participants find surprises about themselves and become more resilient in the face of challenges.
  • Target group: Youth workers, youth leaders, educators and teachers.
  • Where & when: Spain, October 2024.

Training Course 7: Life's Lullaby

  • Subjects: Storytelling, vocal and body expression
  • About: Life's Lullaby is a learning space for youth workers to explore contemplation through non-formal education methodologies and experiential, artistic practices in a natural environment. Participants will use storytelling, body and vocal expression tools to develop realistic solutions to health problems (emotional, mental, and physical) caused by stress, hyperactivity, and hyper connection in a society that emphasizes constant production and self-realization.
  • Target group: youth workers, social workers, educators, psychologists, art therapists, teachers, as well as active members of associations focused on the development and implementation of youth work.
  • Where & when: This project will take place from 22/07/2024 until 29/07/2024 in Spain. These dates might change after approval of the project (January).
  • Partners: There will be 21 participants for this project. Coming from Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Romania, Portugal and Czech Republic.

Training Course 8: Use of video making as a tool to improve youth workers’ skills

 

  • Subjects: Environment, video, social media.
  • About: This project aims to provide youth workers with professional video editing skills focused on environmental protection. The goal is to strengthen the digital skills of youth workers and associations, and to promote positive messages about environmental protection to young people. The project will take place in Treviso, which is a finalist for the European Green Capital Leaf Awards. The project will use video making to promote good practices about environmental protection that youth workers can replicate in their own countries or cities.
  • Target group: Youth workers who are already involved in environmental education or youth activism, Youth workers who are interested in using video to promote social change, Youth workers who have some basic video editing skills, but who want to learn more advanced techniques. Youth workers who are creative and have a strong interest in storytelling.
  • Where & when: This project will take place in Italy, autumn or late spring 2024 . Exact dates TBA.

Training Course 9: Follow The Trail (part one and two)

 

  • Subjects:  Disability, Inclusion, Outdoor Education
  • About: The aim of 'Follow The Trail' is to make activities more accessible and inclusive for youngsters with a disability. The project consists of two phases: the first one in Isere, the French Alps, and the second one in Norway. Participants will use outdoor settings to explore how sports and experiential learning can enhance inclusivity and intersectionality. They will also learn about potential barriers to (outdoor) education and how to overcome them. 
  • Target group: Belgian youth workers, educators, teachers, mentors or community center staff/volunteers who are interested in non formal learning, ideally working with youngsters with disabilities. The training course is fit for both volunteers as well as professionals. 
  • Where & when: Part one this training will take place in France, in April 2024. Part two will take place in Norway, in July 2024.

 

Training Course 10: The power of mental well-being in youth work.

 

  • Subjects:  Mental well being in youth work activities. 
  • About: The training course "The power of mental well-being in youth work" aims to empower youth workers with the knowledge and skills to create safer and more inclusive spaces for young people, focusing on mental well-being. By facilitating open conversations about mental health and well-being, fostering a supportive environment for personal development, reinforcing the importance of self-care, and equipping youth workers with the necessary competencies to address mental health concerns, the project aims to have a lasting impact on youth work practices at all levels, promoting the creation of spaces where young people can thrive.
  • Target group: Belgian youth workers, educators, teachers, mentors or community center staff/volunteers who face mental health challenges in their work with youngsters. The training course is fit for both volunteers as well as professionals. 
  • Where & when: The training has a duration of 6 days (excl. travel days) and will take place in May 2024 in Belgium.
  • Partners: This project will welcome participants from Belgium, Italy, Albania, Lithuania, Spain, Latvia and Poland.

 

Who are we looking for?

Participants: youth workers, 18+. People who work with children and young people in their spare time or professionally (or who clearly intend to do so). After your participation, you will use the knowledge you have gained to work with children and young people. You are also intrinsically motivated to contribute to the project before, during and after. People who show affinity with the subject(s) of the project. You must also be proficient in English.

The projects are still waiting for an official approval (in December/January). Because the project dates are often close to the approval period, we choose to already give you the opportunity to already show your interest. You can do so by filling in this form. From the moment projects get approved, we will contact you.
